We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our growing outsourcing team. THE FIRM
Thomson Cooper is an independent firm of Accountants and Business Advisors operating across Central Scotland with offices in Dunfermline and Edinburgh. We have grown from our small beginnings to now having 8 partners and over 100 staff. In recent years our client portfolio has grown significantly, offering all accountancy services from tax advice to debt solutions, for a variety of clients in various sectors.
THE TEAM

THE ROLE
- Bulk processing of invoices, expenses and other financial transactions
- VAT processing; preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly VAT returns
- Working with a small portfolio of clients
- Bank and control account reconciliations
- Wages and other month end journals
- Promptly responding to client queries by telephone and email
- Filing and document management
ABOUT YOU
- A proven ability to deliver tasks to deadlines and within budget
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced office
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to produce work of a consistently high standard.
- Previous experience in a high-volume data processing environment
- Experienced in Excel and accountancy software packages
- Organised and methodical approach
- High standard of written and spoken English
- Comfortable working as part of a team as well as planning and being responsible for your own work
- Excellent customer service skills
- Professional attitude
- Ability to apply firm’s quality control procedures at all times.
