Online Accounting Adviser

Rapid technological advances and the move to digital tax reporting make this an exciting time for the accountancy profession. As part of Thomson Cooper's commitment to providing our clients with a premium service, we are recruiting for this innovative new role, which involves:

  • Helping migrate clients to new accounting platforms, in particular Xero, Quickbooks Online and Freeagent.
  • Responsible for on-boarding procedures including data migration.
  • Advising clients on improving efficiency and best use of cloud and connected technologies.
  • Supporting our clients and answering their questions about their accounting software, both remotely and at client premises.
  • Visiting clients and prospective clients to demonstrate and explain the benefits of software solutions.
  • Explaining Making Tax Digital and its impact for clients and prospective clients.
  • Preparing quotes and proposals for payroll and bookkeeping services.
  • Monitoring project budgets and costs.
  • Helping to update and evolve standard processing packages for client sectors.
  • Internal training and technical support.
  • Researching new solutions and add-on apps.

Our ideal candidate will have been working with Xero, and ideally one other cloud accounting package, for at least two years. You will have extensive experience of migrating clients onto the cloud.

A sound understanding of double entry accounting and VAT processing is essential.

The role will involve working closely with partners and other team members. You will be able to demostrate a positive and good natured attitude, combined with the ability to creatively solve problems. Patience and an understanding of learning styles is important.

As the role does involve travel to clients and prospective clients, access to a car and a clean driving licence are essential.
