THE FIRM
Thomson Cooper in an independent firm of Accountants and Business Advisors operating across Central Scotland with offices in Dunfermline and Edinburgh. We have grown from our small beginnings to now having 9 partners and over 90 staff. In recent years our client portfolio has grown significantly, offering all accountancy services from tax advice to debt solutions, for a variety of clients in various sectors.

THE ROLE – ACCOUNTING MODERN APPRENTICE
This full-time role would ideally suit a school or college leaver. Based in our Dunfermline office, key attributes required for the role of Apprentice in accounting include:
- Being able to demonstrate a clear commitment to client service.
- Ability to manage your own workload and identify potential blockages/delays.
- Ability to meet or exceed deadlines.
- Good attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Be productive in terms of workload while maintaining a high standard of work.
- Be a good communicator, both oral and written.
- Being able to stay calm under pressure.
- Enjoy working as part of a team or on your own.
ABOUT YOU
- You will have or expect to have achieved (by August 2023) passes at C grade or above in National 5 English and Maths and 4 other subjects at National 5 level
- Ideally you will have or expect to have by August 2023, 3 Highers at grade C or above.
- You will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in accounting and finance and be able to communicate clearly why you want to pursue a career in accountancy.
