Book Keepers

There is nothing quite like losing yourself in a great book when it's cold and dark outside.

So to celebrate Book Week Scotland 2020, here are a couple of suggestions from our staff of books you might like to try. You might want to check out the Book Week events and resources too.

All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr.

This amazing book is set in WW2 and tells the stories of a blind girl living in Paris with her father and an orphan who is enlisted to help the Nazis.

I enjoyed it because it is well written and the characters are authentic. It is exciting, sad, terrifying and joyous, and addresses the horrors of war in a very sensitive way.

It’s one of those books that you really miss once you’ve finished it.

Cowboy Song The Authorised Biography of Thin Lizzy's Philip Lynott by Graeme Thomson

It's funny, sad and uplifting all at the same time. Thin Lizzy were boyhood heroes and I'm still sad Phil is gone.
