Summer Internships
Within our offices, we offer students the chance to come and work for us for a few weeks over the summer. This gives students the opportunity to see what working for a progressive accountancy practice is really like before making any final decisions about what they want to do after graduation.
We currently have summer internships available in our Edinburgh and Dunfermline offices, commencing in 2020. Our closing date is 30 November 2019 – you can apply here. You can also read what some of our previous interns had to say of their experience by clicking on the links below.

Sally Christie

The University of Edinburgh - Business Management with Accounting Summer Intern at the Edinburgh Office

“I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to be an intern at Thomson Cooper this summer. This placement has provided me with the opportunity to demonstrate and develop the knowledge and skills I have gained at university, in a real-life, business environment. Not only that, I have gained experience that cannot be learned in a classroom setting.  Thomson Cooper provided a real representation of my future career by involving and supporting me in work with real clients. I can’t thank Thomson Cooper and their staff enough for making me feel like a valued member of ‘Team TC’.  I will definitely take what I have learned this summer into my studies and future career.”

Lori Annan

The University of Edinburgh - MA Business with Marketing student & Marketing Intern

"My Journey at Thomson Cooper started in June 2019 when I joined the team as a Summer Marketing Intern. Since then, i have been given the opportunity to continue my industry experience alongside my third year university studies. Working in an established organisation while continuing my studies allows me to put my textbook knowledge into practice and strengthen my understanding. Working regularly in a real-life business environment and working on real company projects and strategies gives me valuable experience that cannot be learned in university lecture halls and seminars. Thomson Cooper have been extremely helpful in tailoring my workload to compliment my studies so that i get as much out of this opportunity as I can."
