A Fresh Perspective

Welcome to new member of staff Arran Anders, who will complete his accountancy training as part of Alan Mitchell’s team. We thought it would be interesting to find out about Arran’s first impressions of Thomson Cooper. Here’s what he had to say:

I was delighted to join Thomson Cooper, as I was keen to complete my training at a practice large enough to offer a variety of experience, while small enough that senior staff and partners are accessible and involved in developing their staff.

Right from the start, I was made to feel like I was part of the team, largely due to how friendly and welcoming my colleagues have been. Everybody is approachable, partners and staff alike.

The emphasis on professional development and very apparent attention to detail that everybody shows in all aspects of their work struck me within the first couple of days.

For such a forward-looking practice, Thomson Cooper is proud to emphasise its history, for example there are pictures of all the past managing partners proudly displayed in the boardroom.

I’m also enjoying the work environment. The office where I work is open-plan, and the building as a whole is pretty impressive. We’re surrounded by mature trees, while being right next door to the M90.

All in all, my first couple of weeks at Thomson Cooper have been great and I’m looking forward to growing my career here.
